Matchbox – Part 7: Speeding The Blur Up

Julik and Joel split the Box Blur example into a multipass shader to improve performance a great deal. Julik is also bashing about shader file browser which turns out to be greatly improved, and confuses 25 with 49 (see if you can spot where).

As usual, no code will be provided - please write your own, feel free to ask if something is not working out.

Matchbox – Part 6: The Box Blur

As promised, we tell as much as we can about image filtering. Convolve your matrix with an average filter like there is no tomorrow! You finally get the opportunity to write your very own blur. We also explain why some blurs get slow as you make the radius - and we explain what the whole "radius" business is about.
